Did Anyone Else Find It Odd...

That Julian, as big of a collector that he is and has been looking for a particular butterfly... to fulfill his sons promise for this particular butterfly for 15 years since his son died,and 3 years before that, and yet he wouldn't recognize it's scientfic name when presented right in front of him?
