Liberal and Pedantic

This was a good movie, and fun. But every 4 minutes my suspension of disbelief was broken by some liberal politically non-universal backhand. Someone the audience was supposed to empathize with would make some sexual reference, or drinking or drugs or whatever. Her dad, the good guy, was described as someone who repeatedly sued the police department over civil liberties issues. I don't care your views, it's just suicide to sign the name of your funded project to some of these ideas, especially when your intended audience generally represents the exact opposite viewpoint. I guarantee if you shop down a list of Disney supporters you'll find a statistical significance to the lack of belief in those things...

Or, as other posters have mentioned, the complete lie about how black college athletes "graduate less than 1/2 of the time." I teach in an urban school--you wouldn't believe the damage those kinds of lines do to a kid.

But I guess that's ABC Family--24 hours a day of insappropriate content with the word "family" in the title.

We all love Maggie Lawson, but she'll need a horrible scar to finally get us to recognize she's not Alicia Silverstone... Of course maybe she doesn't want us to see that. It's served her well. She's also good on Psych.

Hollywood is always out of touch with America.

Actually, according to a Spring 2002 (no 35)article in The Journal of Blacks in Higher Education, "41 percent of black men on athletic scholarship go on to graduate." Further, it is observed that this % remains relatively similar regarless of race. So while the statistic cited by you may not be entirely accurate, it is based in recognized research.

I don't know who you think the intended audience is, but a lot of people I know who watched this loved it. If anything, it should have been more liberal!
