Advocate scene / Mother

I don't know the book, perhaps it is clearer there, but here some thoughts:

At the advocate's Momo receives Ibrahim's testament and his Koran. The advocate tries to read the testament but is interrupted twice by his mother's calls.

What does this mean? At the advocate's you usually receive or are informed about bequeathed properties, things which remains for you. Is the message of these interrupts, that Momo could realize, that his mother is now the only remaining person, to whom he has/could have a closer relationship?

Also, the advocate is interrupted twice. On the second call he talks with her leaving Momo alone. As for the advocate Momo's (first) reaction to his mother's approach was rejection. Does it mean that there is a chance of forgiving her and contact her or at least he would not reject if she approached him again (after realizing that he is actually her son)?
