Do they shoot 'Contempt' by Godard?

The film shooting scene reminded me a lot of Godard's "Le Mépris"/"Contempt" with Brigitte Bardot. There is a scene where the American producer invites Bardot's character to join him in his (I think red) car which is very similar to the scene in "Monsieur Ibrahim". Also the fictional director in "Monsieur Ibrahim" mentions the name "Paul" - which is the name of a character in "Le Mépris". What do you think?

I agree. The characters and the situation look exactly the same as in Le Mépris. And (SPOILER) the ending of Le Mépris of course also foreshadows the ending of Monsieur Ibrahim with the red sports car and all. It's a nice little nod to Godard.

Yeah, it's supposed to be a filming of a scene for Contempt, and the actress in the end credits is listed as playing Brigitte Bardot. Still, as a movie, Monsieur Ibrahim owes a lot more to Truffaut than it does to Godard.
