SPOILER: Cleverly added suspense

*** Spoiler ***

So how intense was the hair-cut scene at the jail huh? I was impressed, it was quite a bit of suspense relative to the rest of the movie. It added the possibility for a real twist to the plot, kept me guessing...

That scene, in addition to the trailer scenes with the father, cleverly added just enough suspense to keep you wondering 'what the heck'.

It seemed to me rather genius.

Was everyone else half-way convinced that Jay Grubb was going to shed some blood? Although i'm still not quite sure if there are any jails that work quite that way.... open picnics, open trailors, open salons? But really interesting!

Yeah, the hair-cut scene was pretty good. Especially the shaving part.

But i agree, maximum security prisoners on a free-for-all picnic? Hardly. And old fashioned razor knives lying around in the salon... with "trustee" prisoners (or whatever they're called) having the keys to the place? Not sure if I'd wanna be a guard in that particular institution...

"Don't f_ck with the Jedi Master, son."

I thought that Jay was either going to be raped/killed, or he was going to have sex with Buddy.

OMG THANKYOU FOR MAKING THIS TOPIC.
When I was watching it, I was getting that feeling in the stomach I usually get when watching a very intense episode of 24. I just didn't know WHAT was going to happen. At first I thought the father had told Buddy to kill Jay because he was gay. And then Buddy paid the officer some money and I thought 'Oh no they're all in on killing Jay!' And then I was so sure something bad was going to happen because everyone was off doing things and it'd be pretty easy for it to happen.
But then Jay didn't die (thank God, I actually prayed lol. I love Brad Renfro), and then the kiss happened (which is what I prayed for, lol!!) and it ended nicely in that way and I thought: "Oh good!"
But yes, very suspenseful scene, that.

Uhhh. The prison would not have straight razors laying around, even in barbershops. The razor probably was Buddy's. In reality, you can get just about ANYTHING you want in prison. Buddy, was an operator and obviously had all the guards paid off. He's the go-to guy when you need stuff.

Even so, I had to suspend some disbelief as to the lax security at that particular prison. It was the weakest part of the plot.

Didn't anyboy notice that Buddy didnt have the keys to the barber shop!!!
As u can see he took at long time to actualy get the door open....he broke in to the barber shope...he lied to jay about having the keys to everything just because he's a"trustee" so he wouldn't worry about it....next time u watch the movie watch close when buddy opens the door!
