Scenes cut out?.......spoiler... .......

I wonder but I'm not sure if the TV-channel I was watching the movie on, cut some vital scenes in order to fit it in the time slot. Because, I sat and watched the whole movie from start to end , but

1. There is no scene/flashback about Julianne's luxurious lifestyle before marriage, as Mitch mentioned. So I had no idea how awful she felt in the wilderness or if Mitch is exaggerating.

2. There is no scene/flashback with her previous boyfriend prior to marriage.

3. There is no scene/flashback about how Mitch and Julianne met and fell in love. This could give an insight to the story.

4. There is no scene/flashback explaining why Julianne would agree to marry somebody like Mitch. Mitch might have a reason to marry a barbie doll, but what Julianne's reason to agree?

5. There is no scene/flashback about mitch stalking Julianne (as revealed later).

6. There is no scene/flashback showing how well they knew each other. This is the key of the movie. Did they get to know each other properly at all prior to marriage?

7. There is no scene how Julianne swimmed across the lake and how she made it through the deep dangerous forest. Because the movie made it very clear that both these two were the restraining factors for her survival in that wilderness.

Without these scenes, things seemed like starting from nowhere and meaning nonsense. Starting with the wedding scene was fine, but how about some flashbacks to fill in the unknown gaps?

You nailed it, genius. No flashbacks.

The characters tell you everything.

It was a low-budget film. Flashbacks would have cost more.

All of that is explained in dialogue.
