The trailer voice-over-guy

So who is he? He does the voice over on something like 90% of all hollywood movie trailers, but who is he?

reply

I don't think it's the actual guy. That's Don LaFontaine you're thinking of, and he doesn't look like that. I am curious to know who he is though!

Of course, since the last post has been on this thread, Don has appeared in commercials for GEICO.

According to Comedianshrine.com he's called Hal Douglas and although he doesn't do quite as much as John Lafontaine he does do a lot of the major films...mostly comedy as opposed to action from what I can tell.

reply

It is in fact Hal Douglas. Probably most well known for being "The Voice of The WB network"

you know... "dawson and pacey have a secret they'll never share...until felicity comes along and changes everything...next time on charmed"

I find chicken to be more a pork meat than a toilet food.

reply

If his name is Hal(and you're right... it is him), why in the world are they calling him Jack in the trailer? :))) It's more of retorical question then anything else, so don't bother answering it :) Funny trailer nevertheless.

reply

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hal_Douglas the Wikipedia article officially acknowledges him as the Comedian trailer guy.

Who's running the sound board in the trailer? The more I watch it, the more convinced I am that it sounds like Alec Baldwin.

I have a follow-up question: I saw a comedian performing at The Tonight Show with Jay Leno a few years ago, and he did a very funny imitation of the trailer-voice-over-guys. Does anyone know what that comedian's name is? He was also imitating Spanish soap-opera actors.

reply

The comedians name is Pablo Franscisco

Check out this site about Don:

Note how at the end of the article it lists some of his famous coined phrases, like "In a world where..." and "Now, more than ever." Both of them were used in this trailer as part of the joke =D
