Why didn't they...?

just turn Koda into a boy so they could take care of him? I think that would be a great lesson considering he killed his mom!!

reply

You're slightly mistaken. It was Kenai who killed Koda's mom, not Koda. I thought it was explicitly cleared when Kenai himself turned back into a bear because he realizes Koda needed him therefore in doing so he earned his title as a man through becoming a "bear of love".

Uh Chris, you may want to reread what he wrote.

By he, the original poster meant Kenai.

Like a circle in a spiral, like a wheel within a wheel...

I clearly understood what the OP meant. My answer in general was that it was Kenai who needed to make the transformation, not Koda. The movie made it clear it on that, and it was a better ending to the story because it was a sacrifice of love.

Well said.

Can't stop the signal.

Changing species is a big sacrifice. That's why KENAI was the one who had to do it.

To be honest I don't know why they didnt just adopt Koda as a 'pet' and take care of him among the humans and let him live like a bear, but keep him protected.

reply

KODA didn't just need protection; he needed a family. He wouldn't feel that if KENAI couldn't communicate with him.
