Stifler too funny in this movie - without him, there is no movie

I know Stifler was really juvenile in this movie, but he had some classic and funny lines. I would have to say that for Sean William Scott I like him best in American Wedding and the Rundown (one of my favorites). This guy has a face made for playing a douchebag - I don't mean that as an insult. I think he made the movie interesting. Otherwise, there would have been few opportunities for gags and other funny parts.

You have Finch who is pretentious and tries to act "sophisticated"
Jim who is neurotic, anxious, and uncomfortable all the time
the dad who gives hilarious advice
the bride who is just a crazy little nympho
the uptight parents of the bride
Kevin who really has nothing to do at all
and Stifler who actually drives the plot.

Otherwise it would have been a boring movie about two people getting married.

I disagree. His character was way too over the top and juvenile in this one. He could've easily played the way he did in AP1 and 2, but there was something almost desperate about the way he was reaching for the laughs. Just saying the word "dick" every other sentence doesn't equate to humor.

Make a distinction between the actor and the script. The script called for the actor to recite those lines, and to use dick in every other sentence.

that's why he doesnt have any friends, his family hates him as well

STIFLER IS MUCH MORE OBNOXIOUS AND IMMATURE IN THIS MOVIE THAN HE IS IN THE OTHER AMERICAN PIE MOVIES,I NOTICE IT! IN THIS MOVIE HE MAKES ME WANT TO PULL MY HAIR OUT!!

I love the movie but they could have toned down his character a few notches. He seemed a bit manic in this one.

Rewatched all 4 in recent weeks and Wedding is the WEAKEST of them all and it MOSTLY has to do with putting Stifler front & center! No rag on Sean William Scott (he's hilarious in the American Pie films, Dude Where's My Car and Evolution, but the character of Stifler just doesn't work as a "lead" and Wedding suffers because of it. I mean, I can't be the ONLY ONE who feels he DIDN'T deserve to get the girl in this one, regardless of his spoiled a$$ re-buying the flowers for the wedding (oooooh, big save, throw him some pu$$y!)

Reunion got it right, putting him back as a "side" character and strictly as comic relief.

Besides, Stifler dry-humping Michelle's Mom in the flower shop had me in stitches. *beep* it, the whole first segment of his "Steven" shtick was hilarious.
