it's been quite i while since i last watched this and going through the several american pie movies here it came back to my mind that chris klein was not in this, can anybody tell me, why?
was there an explanation given in the movie, or is there an official statement why he wouldn't appear?
On Chris Klein's biography section on IMDB, it says that the shooting scedule conflicted with Klein's filiming in London for something or other.
And it would have been too costly to fly him in, simply to make a cameo in a few scenes.
Plus they didnt have much for Chris to do. They were already too busy with the other characters.

It would have been such an impact if he had just run up the hill during Jim's speech to the groomsmen before the wedding... The gang wasn't there and it left a hole. :(

That explains the actor but they really should have made some mention about the character on screen. It was weird that they didnt even mention him, esp since he was the link between Steven and the rest of them.

If you check the deleted scenes, Oz and Heather were in Spain I think and that Jim's grans health was deteriating and so they decided to do the wedding very quickly so that she could see her only grandchild get married before she dies.

was there an explanation given in the movie,There was, in a deleted scene. He was still in Spain with Heather.
Ah shoot. It would have been nice to have that throwaway line when the guys are meeting, instead in the theatrical and unrated release, nothing is said about Oz. It makes perfect sense for Oz and Heather to be far away during this time, especially if the wedding date was rushed for Grandma's benefit.
In real life though, the actor was never asked to return, which is bizarre, seeing as how he's one of the mains of the first two films. I guess there was just no way to fit in a Heather & Oz storyline, I did notice this film is heavily Stifler focused compared to the first two.
