One Word: Beautiful

I don't think i've seen something as thought provoking and educational as this movie. it was so unique (for me atleast) and as someone who loves different cultures it was just amazing to 1) see so many styles of film-making on one subject ) point of views of 11 different countries 3) just seeing a number of countries agreeing and taking time to do this type of film. I think it takes guts in a way to express feelings that may be negative towards one country but it was so conforting to see such honesty in film making. each film was so different. the burkina-faso, japan, uk/chlean, and iran's clips really got me. the others were also amazingly done. i'm looking foward now to 'paris je t'aime' altho i dont know if it will have the same impact since it's not such an emotionally driven theme like this one is.

yeah, I thought this was extreme goodness, this is what I want to spend my time watching, such movies sets the standards once & for all.

If u also liked this, think of yourself as "high-culture".

hehe thanx! i like the ring of that :)

You're right, i think this is def. a new standard of film making..or i guess new trend that i would def. like to see more of. it's so educational and has such an impact, as is such a beautiful way of filmmaking. i guess i'd be cool if they did something like this after major world events. it would be great for documenting world relations and how the world reacts and is impacted by events. it's such a step towards bringing everyone together.

speaking of "thought provoking",
try Amores Perros, and 21 Grams by Alejandro Innaritu (sp?), the dude from the Mexican segment.

and try Waking Life, which is very very beautifully crafted.

anyway.

haven't seen Waking Life, but seen the others.

funny thing, i was also intrigued by Alejandro Inaritu. altho the type of spanish was hard to understand and didnt have subtitles :S for amores perros but yea, i totally like his film-making. very captivating. if im not mistaken he's doing a segment for Paris Je T'aime, so it shd be good.
