What manage does the series end at?

I have loved this series for years and have always been dissappointed that the series left off at such a cliffhanger. I was wondering exactly what # book does the series leave off at so I could go buy them from that point. Thank you :)

The middle of the eighth book.

Be aware, though, that the ending of the series was completely made up and does not follow the manga at all. Also, there were some minor plot lines that weren't in the series at all.

Before you go out and buy them, look for them at the library.
