At the beginning of the movie, it shows Frances married to a man who was giving a speech about his newly published book, right?? That man's real name is Elden Henson, right?? Wasn't the man who they showed at the beginning Frances' husband??
If that is correct, they sure did rob the cradle with that actor. Diane lane was born in 1965, while Elden Henson was born in 1977. That quite an age difference when the man is younger, don't you think?? I thought he looked too young for her.

That wasn't her husband. If you listen closely during his speech, he mentions that he took her class in college. She's his former teacher.

Actually, the fact that you never see his face is one of my favorite bits of symbolism in this film. You spend so much time trying to block out everything after a break up, a face you spent years with can blur
