I love this film and I'm a guy!

I love this comedy and I always come back to it, year after year, as a feel-good, wildly entertaining and funny film.

And for the record, as a straight male who doesn't enjoy sentimental movies all that much, I don't see this as a "chick flick" at all. If you disagree, check out Bergman's Autumn Sonata (1978). It should come with a warning label on it.

Since I've gotten into foreign language films (FLF) the last few years I can see the marked similarities between FLF's and this wonderful film. This is not the typical American comedy. I'm sure being filmed in Tuscany is a big part of that.

So, for anyone who likes this movie, you may also be interested in viewing a few (real) Italian classics (replete with beautiful countryside). Here are some from my list below:

- Il Postino (1994)
- Divorce - Italian Style (1961)
- Cinema Paradiso (1988)
- Malèna (2000)

Ciao!

I too am a guy and I really like this film. It reminds me of my times in Europe and my Italian friends hospitality.
