What do u think about the ending??

I think it was horrible !!! a typical stupid arabic-movie happy ending. In fact it was the most noticeable drawback of this movie. I can believe that any of these couples can solve all their problems for strange reasons like having a baby, because this happens in real life, but ALL of them did that at the same time? that was fake. I think the writer of this movie did a good job, but ... can't he just make more effort to conclude his work with a good real-life ending instead of this lame one?

I always thought this topic deserves a thread of its own, because its time for egyptian movie makers to consider this issue. In Hollywood, some movies can succeed or fail just because of its ending ( compare 'the usual suspects' and 'seven' with 'twisted' or 'the forgotten', as examples of thrillers)

What do u think?

i thought the film was pretty good but the ending did annoy me. i found it hard to belive that the pregnant woman (sorry don't remember any names) could just happily dance and move on in the end!

I have the trumpet now! And i say we look in Sally's bag for food!

Actually i think the ending was ok
it wasn't great but not that lame also
if u really see what's happenning, u'll notice that it's not that much of a happy ending
it was only happy for sherif monier and ola ghanem
them marrying is the only 'solution' taking place here
the others just disregarded their problems
and that only works for a while
u see, in the finishing scene, they all are facing the same problems
fat7y abdelwahab: still much tempted by other women
khaled abol-naga: no sign of him converting to the sentimental passionate person jehan would like him to be
and jehan fadel may be was sent back by the ugly idea of cheating but she still has a problem
7elmy and 7anan: it was no solution at all, faking a pregnancy

I got that impression, but it was still kinda annoying that they left it that way.

Yeah..i agree with Azizcat..it was not a happy ending at all..it was almost like an open end..i think the writer wanted to say that these 4 problems he presented have no solution..or left us to find the solutions..Fathy Abdel Wahab was looking over Mona Zaki's shoulder at another woman, Jehan Fadel was, as i remember, wearing the necklace Ahmed haroun bought her, while dancing with her still unsentimental husband ! Hanan Turk also was still looking at Khaled Aboel Naga from time to time like she's been doing throughout the movie..Even Sherif Mounir & Ola Ghanem didn't look like a promising couple..
Problems were in the air..& indeed that wasn't a happy ending..
But as they say..Life goes on & they had to go on together..

I agree, and I can describe more why it isn't a happy ending for any couple:
-The problem between Sherif & Ola is still the same; as Sami El-Adl was present at the wedding and you see Sherif Mounir looking to him with a challenging look.
-As for Ahmed Helmy & Hanan Turk; we see that Hanan is still jealous as ever, and still trying to look happier with Ahmad in the eyes of Khaled & Gihan.
-As for Fathy & Mona Zaki; the problem is still the same too, as we see him grabs the hand of a lovely lady during dancing and take peeks to her.
-And finally as for Khaled & Gihan; we see Gihan wearing the necklace that Ahmed Haroun bought her, an indication that the problem is still the same.
(Sorry Blue-Star for borrowing some of your words :)

I would like to say that this ending is one of the best endings I have ever seen, very smart and makes audience think a lot about it after leaving theatres. I think that the guys here who didn't like the ending saying that it was too happy just didn't get it. I hope they read this and get the message.

Agree with the original post. The ending was the weakest link...

Unlike the original poster, though, I wouldn't necessarily expect a thriller type ending. Maybe a bit vaguer like "before sunrise/sunset"... at least to match the genre.

In general, the movie wasn't bad (7/10 IMO) but more "meat" and "wit" in the dialogue would've convinced me to rate it higher...In addition to a better ending.

Excellent effort nonetheless.

Ayman, I never suggested a thriller type ending. I was just giving examples and I used thrillers because I like them and because they clarify my point the best.

And to be honest, I rewatched the ending after reading the replies here and I have to say that I noticed things I didn't see before (gihan fadel wearing the necklace, Hanan Turk still looking at Kaheld Abol Naga, ...etc). So I can see the ending from a different perspective now and I admit it is better.

But still, I think the writer intended to make two endings: A happy one for most of the audience to satisfy them, and an open one for others who look closer. Unfortunately, I left the theater early and didn't see most of the last scene, and so I missed the real ending. May be it could have been better if it had a clear open ending.
