there arent any movies like this, its truly original. there are other movies that explore the themes of talent like Good Will Hunting but none like this.

I think theres a japanese comic or something called ping pong club, but its not affiliated with the movie.
it is truly original and an amazing find.
actually the movie's based on the comic book series with the same title written by taiyou matsumoto.
and there should be no sequels based on the comics at least, because the two versions share the same (or a mostly similar) plot, meaning how it ends in the movie is pretty much how it ends in the comics.
i thought the movie did a good job at being accurate to the original, despite the fact that there were some memorable scenes in the comics that were understandably omitted in the movie.
