The cure for their depression... (spoilers)

... Having a baby?

Don't get me wrong I definitely enjoyed the entire movie and all its originality, up until the point where the pregnancy & baby became the direct correlation to Grace & Max's happiness overcoming their depression. Not sure if that was the intended message, anyone else have a different interpretation?
