Interesting Question...

I just finished watching this movie for the hundredth or so time, but a couple of nights ago, I watched it with my dad (who usually hates movies I like) but surprisingly he really liked it.

He did have one question about the movie though. And I guess I'll put this as a spoiler since there might be people on this forum that haven't seen the movie.

My dad was curious if AFI director Miguel Manzano was involved in the kidnapping in some way. He [my dad] mentioned that since he is the head of the AFI in Mexico, and all the members of the "La Hermandad" are members of the Judicial Police, perhaps he is above all of them and somehow connected to "The Voice". Remember, he mentioned that he is hoping that Creasy will lead them to "The Voice". And in the very end, Manzano shoots "The Voice" several times, execution-style. My dad was curious if this is maybe to shut him up from telling his story to the newspaper or other media and saying that Manzano was connected.

Again, just a thought from a first-time viewer of the movie. I'll admit, I definitely never thought of that before, but I just thought I'd see if anyone else has the same thought like my father.

I thought of it several times whenever I rewatch it. But I'm going to say no otherwise he wouldn't of helped out as much as he did but the main thing I was suspicious of is him bringing on ray to question him about creasey. that always gets the questions going.

Didn't see it that way at all. Manzano was a cleanskin amongst all the dirt. He was happy to see Creasy cutting through all the red tape making it easier to finally prevail against The Voice, whose shooting may have been payback for Creasy's death or just a way to save the expense of trials in the legal system.🐭
