I felt bad about liking this movie!

The torture scenes were difficult to watch, in fact I've closed my eyes several times while watching it. It's just such an interesting and compelling story, each time I watch it I'm reminded that it's based on a true story. A horrible true story. I may research this case.

I've actually heard that it's in fact not a true story. The ending of the film implies that it's true but from the research I've done, nothing turns up. Everyone says it a work of fiction based on a book and nothing else. I can't even find a picture of "the real" John Creasy.
