Watched this movie again just recently, I couldn't help but notice just how annoying Tony Scott's effects were in the movie. I loved the movie, but I feel the effects detracted from the film if anything.

I love Scott's visual style and visual effects and love the film even more because of them.

Although I too disliked them, they DID add to the overall ugliness of the film,

Just watched this today on BluRay. Had forgotten quite how annoying and irritating the cinematography was. I'd go so far as to say it ruined the film for me.
