so, did they end up together or what?

I know this must sound incredibly dumb, but I hafta know, did they end up together in the end? I mean I must be dumb cause I couldn't quite understand the ending, any thoughts?

No they didn't. In the end the age difference was too big an obstacle. They decide to remain friends which is why Phoebe invites him to come with her to her graduation (but not as her boyfriend).

Since the guy mentions that he doesn't plan for them to be serious until he's 21 (I guess so they can both legally go drinking?) they can't be serious.

It's filmed in Nova Scotia Canada, so 19 is the legal drinking age (in Quebec it is 18, but then again that is only a suggestion).

While there is an age difference, Phoebe is, for whatever reason, very inexperienced, as inexperienced as if she were his age.

Once her friends move away there is no reason they shouldn't date, although she should postpone coitus until he is past the legal age of consent.
