Any idea what this was shot on?

The current review on the main page says it looks like MiniDV, but I really wasn't able to tell while watching it. I did notice an almost imperceptible discoloration along the left side, which my camera does too, though I'm assuming they would've used equipment much better than my Sony TRV-19.

Ultimately it's not important; I'm just curious. The film, and given the topic I use that term loosely, was great and in the end that's really all that should matter.

Nevermind, it was 35mm. It didn't occur to me to check the Technical Specs section. I'm assuming the washed out gritty feel must have been intentional. The discoloration I mentioned could've just been my copy or my eyes playing tricks. I watched it pretty late last night.

reply

35mm. Not video. We did, however shoot the newscaster scenes with video to give it the proper look.

Yeah, I already figured that out (see my other comment), but thanks for replying anyway. You guys did a great job on the film, despite the deep psychological trauma I suffered upon watching the nightmare scenes involving Kari. Damn you for that. ;)

You should have seen the stuff we cut out!

reply

Oh my god. You mean you toned it down?

reply

Yes, but to be fair I think that was Stuart's master plan to IMPLY the horror and violence rather than see it.

reply

Yes great job. AMAZING movie. My favorite shot would have to be the chair falling after he first gets hit. That was such a good shot!
