Seeing Hammond(senior) die

Did anyone else practically want to have a party when they saw Hammond(brutal archie murderer) get killed?

reply

LOL... Hammond played is actually played by my Uncle Ian. He laughed at this thread!!! :)

Neils Mum: Neil, did you make your bed?
Neil: No, I bought it.

Wow, that's awesome! Tell your uncle Ian he's really cool, and plays a good bastard character.

Personally I was really shocked when Hammond shot himself. But when I asked my friend, he said he felt like partying, so there you go.

I suspect the problem is that you have too many paperclips up your nose

He is superb at playing a bastard. Watch out for him in the new Holywood war movie "Closing The Ring". He plays a bigger bastard trying to blow up half of Belfast! Set in 1991 and 1942.

I agree! I still laugh every time I see Hornblower defeating him at whist in "Loyalty". I was still a bit shocked to see him turn traitor, tho', given that we'd already seen him in "The Examination for Lieutenant", and in the "Mutiny/Retribution" storyline. Still think he deserved to come to a sticky end tho', cause he always had it in for Hornblower.

"Metal Gear! It can't be..."

How did you feel when your uncle went on to have one of the major roles in Game of Thrones? It's practically the biggest thing to ever happen in mass media history.

*spoiler alert*

Heartbreaking to see him killed in the last season. Not only was he was one of my favorite characters, but I had a special theory about him that I can't have anymore :(

My theory was that after all his judgements toward Jaime Lannister for killing the mad king (unknowing it was for good reasons) I theorized that Dany would slip into madness and he would be forced with the same terrible choice Jaime had. Oh well.

I can only imagine how many fans he has now.

Not being a huge Archie fan (They steal Bush's fantastic moments from the books and give them to Archie...) I had no venom for Hammond there. His traitorous traits (*ahem*) were despicable, but his death was so tragic and miserable, and the actor's portrayal really made you pity the character. So, no. I felt pretty bad for him; as I suspect the director intended the audience to.

reply

How did Hammond kill Archie? I thought he hwas shot and died of his wounds?!

reply

I think the original poster meant that Hammond was kind of vicious during the court martial, and if he had not pursued 'justice' in such a manner, Archie might have been able to die without having his good name sullied. I guess. :D I've never been an Archie fan myself, so I really didn't care. :P

reply

I haven't see this one yet, but he kills Archie? :O I have to watch Archie being killed? :(

I felt a bit of pity for him... (but couldn't stop giggling over "Midshipman Riddle")

And in my (AoS themed) WIP I based a villain on him - what they shares is the looks and the collaboration with the Frogs part. My char isn't Irish though - he's just a treacherous libertine bastard.

Starry Vere, God bless you!
