chicks vs dudes

Obviously this film seems to get people worked up, and in ways I do not quite understand. I enjoy "gross" humor, like Will Ferrel's boner in Anchorman, or the pulled tooth in the Hangover, and I thought laughed at a lot of it in this film. Yet, this film is treated much more harshly than any film I have ever come across (except possibly "Battlefield Earth"). My theory: guys think they own grossout humor and generally cannot countenance its involvement with, say, menstruation. Thus, chicks, for the most part, laugh at this film, and dudes are somehow outraged. And imdb, of course, is totally dude-dominated (just look at the top 250 romantic films), as are probably most obsessive, list-oriented, pop-culture critical forums.

Weigh in, anybody?
