Was Coraline hallucinating?

Could Coraline be hallucinating all along, result of poisoning by the wood fork in the beginning of the movie?

reply

She would be hallucinating the world as the other world. But would she have been able to not hallucinate an "other" cat, and keep the cat the same? Hallucination is a passive thing, everything gets distorted. How can she hallucinate a non-hallucinated fragment of an hallucinated world?

Nah. The book is definitely explicit in that it all happened. I know adaptations change things but in this case I certainly don't get that vibe.

No.

She was not hallucinating.
In the beginning Whyborn told her that he's grandmother owns the pink house she lives in. But he's grandmother wouldn't allow children to live I that house.
(Knowing of course that there lives that witch that eats children and takes her in her web)
When Coraline asked Whyborn why he's grandmother wouldn't allow children in the pink house he said shocked : "I am not suppose to tel"
So the world is real...
