I absolutely love this movie, and this quote by Phileas Fogg/Steve Coogan: (it's when he's locked up in the village) "Your silly, spiky bracelet doesn't frighten me." (sharp, deadly blade comes out) "All right. It's not silly." Or whatever the line is. That just makes me laugh and laugh and laugh... oh, and the "Does Tuesday work for you?" Hah!
So, what are your favorites quotes?

"Nothing is final until you're dead--and even then, I'm sure God negotiates."

A few of mine:

"I'll never wear women's clothing again! (pause) Ever!"

When they ask Owen Wilson if he's seen the missing member of their party and he says somehting like "Oh, the one who was naked with a cow skull on his head and singing "Frere Jaques" ? He's in the back of our wagon."

The whole thing with the slinky

I loved the part when Monique and Phileas are in the hot air balloon and trying to help Passportou who is fighting below. Monique grabs a sandbag, Phileas protests exclaiming "That's not going to work...", Monique hits one of the Scorpions below, turns to Phileas and says "Physics, no?"

Also when Rob Schiender runs around yelling "The birdmen are coming!" There is something hysterical in that.

Another all time favorite is when all of our heroes are locked in prison crates and the fourth prisoner is screaming in the distance. When Phileas asks Passportou "Why is he in prison?", Passportou asks and replies "Urinating in public." Phileas (still feeling deceaved by his friends) says "Well at least he was forthcoming about it." That was a brilliant way to break the tension of the relational fight they were having without taking away from what was happening. I thought the writing was just so good in this movie. :0)

"You're a little scoundrel...ok you're not a scoundrel, but you are quite small!"

"Phileas I do believe you are becoming the man of my dreams." "Let's hope the arms and legs of the man of your dreams stay on the torso...of the man of your dreams."

"This is the Royal Academy of Science! We don't need to PROVE anything!"

"What's this thing in the way of my jade reserve?" "That's the Great Wall of China." "...it's not THAT great..."

"This is some sort of strange knife." "Isn't that a sextet?" "Yes..."

When they're in Paris and Passeportout is hanging from the rope attached to the Hot Air Balloon and keeps bashing into walls and statues.

Phileas: 'Impressive. I'd have let go by now.'

And then

Monique: 'The statue's holding onto his pants!'
Phileas: 'Yes, well I don't think it's doing it on purpose.'

Brilliant!

I bought this film because it was really cheap and I'm a Jackie Chan fan. I didn't really expect much at all, but I was very wrong. There were moments when I found myself laughing out loud; especially the running gag about aristocratic English cross-dressers. Someone has done their social research. Kelvin's line of "Everything that could be discovered, has been discovered". Great stuff.

hmmm let me see...

oh this scene:

So which of you half-wits
is going to stop me? You? You? You?

- The queen!
- The queen?

Oh, the queen!

That inbred, antiquated old cow!

The only way she could stop me
is if she sat on me!

With her big, fat royal bottom
[laughing]
She's behind me, isn't she?

Lol I love that scene!

"You dream of flying. Or of naked men"
"Sometimes. The flying...not, not the men"

Most of mine have already been said. and some of them might not be exactly word for word.

"It's not that great" <<referring to the Great Wall.

The scene with the Wright brothers, and Owen Wilson's character describing Passepartou with an expression like "We would never go near that man" and then "Yeah, he's in the back of the wagon!"

Hobo: "Where are the bird men???"
Phileas: (very disturbed) "They're over there..."

"You dream of flying. Or of naked men."
"Sometimes...the flying, not..not the men."

Phileas unconscious: "No, please...you must go. My husband will be home soon!"

*While dressed as a woman*
Phileas: "I feel faint."
Monique: "Phileas, women are not that weak!"
Phileas: "No, but I am!"

Phileas: "Oh, I believe this veil, belongs to you...I will never dress like a woman again (thinks about it for a second) ever!"

Captain: "Yah had me at the nipples!!" <<Mark Addy is great! haha

Old woman: They stole my bag! They stole my bag! *continues running after mob* They stole my bag! *Climbs over a wall and falls face first into the ground*
Phileas: *finally realizes* Oh dear, we stole that old lady's purse!

"Splendid idea Lord Salsbury! I shall name a beef related meal in your honor!"

Prince Hapi's lines were pretty good.
"Do Tuesdays work for you?"
"No! Anything but my statue of me!!!!!!!!!"

Monique: "Ding Dang Dong, Passepartou, ding dang dong."

This is such a great movie. It surprises me that it's considered one of the biggest flops ever.

"Yes...No...To get to the other side...1.772..."
