James Spader ROX!!!!

I thought Spader did a great job in this as always. He never lets me down, I bought this cuz he was in it. I liked him as Julien Rome, a charismatic cryptologist who causes a slight rumble in the social circle of the scientists and thier findings. I felt as if there was no hope for his chararcter due to retarded people; that idiot pilot and that rival scientist. They kept piling all this tension on him, the bomb, the virus, it was frustrating to watch due to these plot devices. He and the alien were communicating and that retard pilot killed it and ruined everything. That idiot pilot was the one who released the virus too, ultimately ruining everyone's fate. The movie was fairly average, it could've been alot more, but it wasn't Spader's fault, he did his job and he did it weel. It was a good performance. And that ending, kept me thinking for days, were the aliens gonna experiment on them or try to breed with them? Were they still gonna die of the virus even though they were gonna go to thier planet??

I agree, he made the movie. He is an amazing actor to watch. Despite some weaker points I liked it as a strong "B" movie.
BTW - if you like Spader, another really good sleeper with him is "The Pentagon Papers" (2003)
