No plans to. I keep checking but a number of people that I know of wrote to the BBC and they had no plans to release this title. Can't see why - loads of people here and in the US would buy it, it's got a good following.

I wrote to BBC Worldwide (they plan all of the BBC's DVD releases) and they said that there were no plans to release any of the series on DVD. I used a TV tuner card to record the shows to my computer so I have a copy but I'd prefer to own the DVDs with the Pilot and both seasons. I was also disappointed that there were no plans to shoot a third series. It kind of left things hanging.

Tamzin is so well known now that I guess she may not consider it but I'm sure the writers could develop new characters to stand alongside the original crew.

Of course, by now, many of the original characters would have been retired, attached to other units, received promotions and they could still be referenced in the stories.

The British Army are always willing to help out Top Gear and other BBC programs, I see it helping stabilise the current perception of the British Military given the situation in the Middle East and Central Asia. Let's remember that it's the politicians who are responsible for that, not the military. There could be crossovers with the corresponding investigative branches of the Royal Navy and the Royal Air Force with possible spin offs.

I can think of half a dozen story lines right now that are current and could be adapted for this fantastic drama.

It's not that I miss Tamzin and the others, I was part of that machine and it's a warm fuzzy feeling when I watch it and see how good the technical advisors are, especially with SOP's and terminology. That was what set this drama aside as one of the finest BBC shows. I never had the same interest in "Soldier, Soldier".

I searched Amazon UK today and found only DVDs of the 1964= series "Redcap" (one word) starring John Thaw. Still hoping for 2003 "Red Cap" DVDs.
