Agree with every word, especially the part about the obvious, blatant attempt to rig the IMDB user rating by sad, pathetic individuals who work for the production company behind this mawkish tripe.

Interesting read. I also enjoyed The Miami Herald review titled - Uncle Nino: Where cliche meets stereotype. The New York Times said it is garbage as well. I'm not here to bash a film I'll never see though, just wanted to point folks on here who might be reading some of the suspicious accolades being posted on here to some reviews in REPUTABLE publications that state otherwise.

There has been a very pronounced "hate it," or "love it" response to Uncle Nino all over the US. Properly promoted this film could easily have become a national institution, as it was a local institution in Grand Rapids MI. Those folk who find traditional family values to be antagonistic hate it, and make the most scurillous misrepresentations about those who love it. I wear their scorn like a badge of honor. I refuse to join the corps of effete snobs who would preside over the death of our society. America is full of very good, brave people, who believe in the healing power of love and the sanctity of the family.

I personally met many of these commentors in Grand Rapids and they are good folk who can see with their hearts as well as their heads. Nino loves and that is currently out of fashion in the modern world.

That may make them good people, but it doesn't make their biased reviews any more credible. Nor does it make the film worth seeing. Why don't they just run it on PAX TV - that's where it's going to end up anyway.

Why don't you people quit having critics think for you. Do you not have your own opinions? Do you really need others to think for you? Go see the movie...then come here and tell me specifically what you didn't like. Seriously people, you are acting like 2-year-olds. I'm 15 years old and even when a film gets bad reviews I see it so I can form MY OWN OPINION. It's nice to have, you know, an opinion. I recommend getting one of you own very soon before you dig yourself a deeper hole.

Good advice Emily.

I must be. I belong to the sad, pathetic cult of Grand Rapids, Mich. I tell you, OP, I don't know anybody in GR who worked for the film. But I do know people who worked at Celebration Cinema North, where Uncle Nino played every day for over a year. And every day for over a year, people came in droves to see this film. I was one such patron. I can't seem to recall any "boo's." As I recall, when I gave this film a "10," I did so because I was sincerely impressed, touched and entertained. It's not what you think, my friend. I don't know how to explain it effectively. Nevertheless, for some reason, Uncle Nino visited our city and completely won over its people. It felt good to be treated to this movie that so few were getting the opportunity to see.

The legions of Ninites have spread over the entire country. Everywhere I go, Fla. CN, Indiana people are strengthened in their daily resolve to love and be loved by this movie. Pierrino
