A Reboot needed???

I've only seen this version. I never read the book or seen the original. It seems to me, and obviously, a lot of people really hate this movie. I too didn't like the idea that the fact that they couldn't decide on using robots or if they were brainwashed. I just say that some of the women are robots and others are brainwashed.

So finally about rebooting the movie. I read in another thread that it would be hard to make a movie such as this, in this day and age. Like i said, i never read the book or seen the original movie and if this idea has been done, forgive me. Keep the whole gated community and seclusion from the rest of the world, but set it in the 50's and use some of today's tech, such as appliances. The husbands bored with their wives, or unhappy, would move into this community and would have turn their wives into Stepford Wives. NO ROBOTS. Just brainwash. And as for the wives look, makeovers.

I think they can remake this movie, but make it closer to the original. Darker and more eerie. This movie was a disaster.

I think they could make it closer to the original and, unfortunately, the core conflict is still there. Yes, we have progressed but there are still a lot of men who would prefer 'perfect' to real. So I think it could be remade just fine with the darker themes. They could give the men more character as well. In the book they all come off as disgusting pigs. This movie goes a tiny step forward with Walter not going along in the end but he still does consider it.

If they did a reboot they could show what happened to some of the couples that refused (probably murdered) or had qualms. And it would be nice if the men sue was given a better reason than "You're more famous than me!" *footstomp*

So, if someone read the book and decided to remake it, I think it would be pretty good.
