The only time Megan Mullally was bad!

Nobody is this movie had any spirit. They all seemed honestly bored. Even Megan Mullally who is awesome in Will and Grace didn't have the knack for drama.

Life is colorful .

yeah me too.I have never seen her any sort of drama and i think she has been stereotyped for her comedy role in will and Grace and no1 gives her a chance.I thought she was increbily moving!

I agree I HATED the character Melanie but I thought Megan's performance was exceptional

"Everything they do is so dramatic and flamboyant. It just makes me want to set myself on fire."

I think the problem in this case was that the script was not as good as it could have been. the writers had not made the best possible choices as what to include in the script and how to tell the story. Somehow I think the spirit of the book was missing: the plot was not very dynamic and the characters often seemed flat. I honestly think that if Megan was offered a GOOD script for a change, she could really shine in a dramatic role. She made the most of Melanie under the circumstances, though.

I think she portraited her perfectly! I think that "bored" look you're talking about - well.. I saw that as her being on the verge of a nervous breakdown! I LOVE this movie (maybe the script is a little bad, but I like the movie) and I esp. love Megan's performance..!

I just finished watching this movie like 5 mins ago,I thought it was a good movie, not the best but I was quite impressed with Megan's dramatic acting in this. I agree totally that she's stereotyped into comedy, so it was refreshing to see her doing something dramatic. I was on the verge of tears at the scene where Mel is down by the river crying about what she read in Emily's journal!

"It's just a bunch of Hocus Pocus!!!"

I love Megan in just about everything she does... and this movie is no exception!!! she is sooooo amazing!!!!!

Well, the writing was kind of eh anyway. Megan did an adequate job. I saw her in Annapurna (a straight play) recently and thought she was amazing in that dramatic role.

If you look around in real life, people look bored a lot, as well, even if they aren't.
