They changed Michael's to Mitchell and Barie Delaney's to Sherrill.
Whats the point of changing two character names???
This happens a lot when books are made into movies. In Plain Truth (also based on the Jodi Picoult book), a main character's family's surname is changed (it was Fisher in the book; Fitch in the movie). The lawyer's surname is changed (Hathaway in the book; Harrison in the movie), and the detective's name is different (Lizzie Munro in the book; Lisa Munro in the movie). In Salem Falls, (also based on a Jodi Picoult book), a main character's surname is changed (it was St. Bride in the book; McBradden in the movie).
