I haven't seen Envy, but I like dark comedies. I know that it got slammed by critics and died a quick death at the box office, but is this movie as bad as everyone saying it is? Or is everyone on a bandwagon?

Personally, I thought it was hilarious. If you like the dark, deadpan-type comedies with goofy quotes that you'll want to put in your AIM profile ("J-Man says come quick!"), you'll probably enjoy it. But see it and judge for yourself; don't listen to everything the critics say.
sharei hated it, besides the very beginning and the very end, the jokes seemed either few and far between, overused, or just not funny
admittedly, i dont really like jack black, but i am a ben stiller fan (zoolander, dodgeball, meet the parents, even keeping the faith) and christopher walken too, however walken's jokes were way overused
if you like this kind of comedy i recomend dodgeball, or even better: ANCHORMAN! both still in theaters

it is really bad, i don't understand how the people who liked it, thinks it was hilarious. yeah maybe they didn't hate it, maybe even liked it and were some how amused by the humor, but hilarious? hell no

no its horrible!!! total waste of money it didnt make me laugh at all me and my friend took a bathroom break and we didnt want to go back in there but we did and i ended up leaving the movie it was THAT bad

If you like movies that are totally off-the-wall, it's *beep* sweet. I don't think I'd buy it either, but it's definitely not bad.
But it's a very strange brand of humor. Some people would not find the goofy friend owning a free-roaming pony hilarious, as well as all the pony drama that follows - thus many people didn't find it funny. I'm trying to think of something else to compare it to, so you know what I mean by "weird" dark humor, as opposed to your run-of-the-mill dark humor. If people call you crazy, you might like it.
I'd say Army of Darkness, but I'd be slaughtered. Just ludicrous humor, like, where the hell does "shop s-mart!" come from? A lot of normies don't even catch that it's comedy.
Like that. But not fabulous. Definitely watchable (for some)
One of the best god damned movies I've ever seen. I don't know why everyone hates it so it must just be a off style of humor. I won't call it black comedy cuz then someone will jump down my throat..I also loved the cable guy too so maybe I'm just a weirdo.
