Regarding Gael in this film...

I have to say that Gael Garcia Bernal looked so good in this film that I nearly fainted. I felt like if I stared at him too long I would go blind, like staring at the sun. He is always unbelievably hot, but in Dot the I...HOLY SH*T!!! Bring in the smelling salts.

Just wanted to share. Any other ladies (or guys) agree with me?

Gael causes me to sound like a stupid teenage girl, but I can't seem to help it.

I agree! I think this may him at his hottest in his movies. I love him clean shaven. You can focus on his beautiful face. And the way he stares; it's so intense and amazing. Too bad he's married haha! Have you seen El Crimen del Padre Amaro? He is great as always and the hottest priest I have ever seen. I love him and I don't care if I sound like a stupid teenage girl too!

I just realized that this message is from 2 years ago! Oh well, love for Gael is eternal :)

/not creepy, i promise

Obviously love for Gael is eternal because two years later I still think he is the hottest guy ever! EVER.

I've seen every Gael film...multiple times! LOL! El Crimen del Padre Amaro is great.

Haha I am just now getting into him. It's becoming a little bit of a problem actually lol. I found out about Gael from a previous love of Diego Luna; I loved him in Dirty Dancing Havana Nights so I rented Y Tu Mama Tambien. Now I feel like I am cheating on Diego because I can't get enough of Gael! He is just such a good actor; he is very talented in changing his accent. And he is gorgeous of course.

The King is at the top of my netflix queue and I just watched Dot the I twice in a row lol! Which of his other films would you recommend?

reply

Haha, the same thing happened with me...once I discovered Gael I couldn't stop watching his films and thinking about him! I got into Gael and Diego at the same time when I saw Y Tu Mama Tambien in the theater. How many times have I watched it? Well, it's playing on HBO Latino right now without subtitles and I'm watching it anyway because I think I have memorized it!! However, Gael is my true love. Diego is adorable and a really good actor, but Gael is even sexier IMO and his acting is above and beyond.

The King is excellent, though I'll warn you it's pretty disturbing. But totally worth it both for the film itself and frequently shirtless, bulked-up short-hair Gael!!

My fave Gael film is probably a toss-up between The Motorcycle Diaries (more beautiful short hair) and Bad Education (by Pedro Almodovar). Most people (especially critics) seem to agree that his best work ever is Bad Education (AND OMG, you get to see Gael in drag and he looks just like Julia Roberts!!! LMAO!) He can't look bad if he tried!

Also be sure to check out Amores Perros, The Science of Sleep and Babel. His English-speaking roles are dot the i, The King and The Science of Sleep, the rest are in Spanish.

He actually has 3 or 4 new films coming out over the next year or so!!

ps -- how many times did you rewind that sex scene in dot the i? I know I did about a thousand times! Hahaha!

Hahahaha so true!!! How much did you envy Maribel Verdu when you watched that film!!

And I totally agree he is yummy in Dot the i <3

Lol, I also love him in drag in Bad Education! He is a ridiculously beautiful man...

Well, looks are never enough to make me "fawn" over someone.
Gael does look nice (and he's got a lovely smile) but what I really liked about him in this film is his personality. Man, the jokes! When he was kneeling in front of Carmen and saying "we can have a date ... go to a restaurant and sit at opposite ends of the room ... we could just wave "hi" to each other once in a while", I cracked up. The way he said it ... =D
He was hilarious. I think he has great potential in acting, I just wish he got more movie roles. He seems like a really interesting guy, plus an amazing actor.
