I thought he was scary even before the twist - an emotionally bonsai'd upperclass Brit. then when he revealed what was going on, I thought he was a sociopath, and very scary.

Oh really? That women Carmen should have the GUTS not to go with kit as she is MARRIED to barnaby. This is why I really dislike women like carmen character fking bastard. I dislike this movie so much that I really felt very hurt and know how barnaby felt. It is so so disgusting. Why must he have a fight with kit? Remember its only a movie but still both carmen and kit made a choice to sex secretly which is very very disgusting. This can happen in real life too. To tell you the truth this movie is outstanding and the actors are great, so I have no problem with the make of the movie but story like this I never want to watch again. Just my opinion. What make me even more dislike of the story is carmen shot his husband! I mean he did forgive his wife but cant believe wife shot him and go on with kit. If kit and carmen were in love before carmen then they SHOULD talk earlier the better. But anyway. It is just a disaster movie. I rather watch my fav movie titanic so much better!

I agree with brownish33.

From the beginning, I couldn't seem to feel much sympathy towards him. He was just trying too hard to evoke pity or something. :S

At the end, I hated him with a passion. Apart from that being an incredibly rude and horrible thing to do, the way he faked everything made my blood boil.

The scene when he comes into Kit's flat while him and Carmen are both panicking over his death, collects the cameras and starts crying "you never kissed me like that" made me SO angry!

I hope people like that don't exist. He was an ice cube of a human being.
It's been a while since a movie character got me so mad. I wanted to punch him, myself.

I also couldn't believe the way he treated Carmen (even if she also went straight out and cheated on him. He PLANNED the whole thing; it was a scam.). He picked her out to "star" in his movie, spent six months with her and "married" her yet at the end, he was so cold towards her like they were just business partners??
I'd think you would develop feelings or at least care for this person, at least unintentionally.
