This movie was terrible!

It was terribly acted,
totally unrealistic,
extremely bad dialogue,
and really quite lame.

Nonetheless, I loved it! Seriously a terrible yet great movie!
A true guilty pleasure.
Anyone agree?

I loved it too, and I do consider it somewhat of a guilty pleasure, but I must disagree that it was terribly acted with bad dialogue. I think what you may be missing is that it was supposed to be that way--Barnaby's film concept was actually quite asinine and he manipulated the situation so that ridiculous cliches and such abounded.

He also type-cast Kit as the token Latino, which is pretty funny because when I first started watching it I was thinking, "This token hot Latino thing doesn't seem like Gael Garcia Bernal's kind of movie." Barnaby also chose a woman who was hot-tempered and then provoked or manipulated her constantly to get the desired effect.

That is the big irony of the movie--"Barnaby's film" was lame. I think this film is saved by it's self-awareness, especially of this fact. Think of how Barnaby was portrayed after his film was nominated for an award--he was insufferably self-satisfied, and then he was dead.

The ending was totally unrealistic, but who cares--it was just a fun little film as far as I'm concerned and pretty well-done for what it was.

ps--Also, Gael Garcia Bernal was so hot in this film that I thought I might lose my mind. He's always incredibly hot, but in this film--WOW. And you have to admit that sex scene was pretty damned hot as well! I like how it kept cutting back and forth between the Gael sex scene and Barnaby's horrible secret video of Carmen staring at the ceiling as he obliviously thrusted away. Wow, sex with Gael was better--shocker!

basically I think it was a good idea for a movie..but it was to short; it seems as though they were rushing to finish it or something...like they were jumping through the scenes...it doesn`t look finished to me but a good idea..

Well said my friend.

It had atmosphere, didn't it...

I don't actually think it was meant to be realistic, felt more like a play to me than a movie.

I loved and hated it at the same time.
