What's w/ the title?

i don't really know if there's such dictum meaning in english, but in other languages "dot the i" means "detection of everything, the end of secrets etc". in Lithuania "visi tashkai ant i (=dot the i)" is a very frequently used phrase.

It has two meanings - to put everything in it's place, and also in the literal sense that Kit has dotted the i's by signing away his freedom when he contracted himself to this weird film/project.

For those who are curious about the title, here is the explanation:

If you've already watched the movie maybe it's easier to remember when Carmen tells a story to Kit (Gael) about a french expression/quote that means a person who found his soulmate, his dot on the "i", the dot came to complete the "i". Cute, isnt'it?!

And she still play trying to compare that quote translating to Spanish and English but they both laugh about it 'cause it doesn't fit like that, do u remember?!

But .... it's been some months since I've watched the movie for the last time so I cannot remember how to say it in French lol! : )

The multiple meanings of the title were, in fact, one of the only interesting things about the film in general. That, and Gael's buttocks.

The title refers to the quote that she says when they are in the park (after they run away from the hotel). She says that "a kiss is like the dot on the word love" at which point he says "there is no I in love" and she replies "then it must not work in english." The problem that many people have with this is that it doesn't seem to work in any of the languages they speak. Spanish, Portuguese, English, or French. The quote she says appears to be in French. The confusion comes because the translation she gives is incorrect. it should really be; "A kiss is the dot on the word like" "like" in French is "aimer." Now if you think of it this way, it really does work in both French and English...although it's probably not as poetic.
