Give Me a Damn Break

Will you people stop kvetching and moaning about, "Oh, the stunts weren't realistic", and "how can they go __ miles an hour...". Who cares? The movie isn't some mindless "Supercross" crap. This movie had a meaning behind it. The stunts were exaggerated to appeal to the audience's eye. With the exception of Meagan Good (whose face makes me physically ill), I thought this movie was good. It showed a different side of bike riding. It's not all about trailer trash Hell's Angels. I have the DVD, and it showed people from all walks of life (accountants, secretaries, etc.) that bike for fun.

The problem is that it didn't go that deeply into the lives of those lawyers and accountants as the article that inspired the movie did. Instead we were left only with the at-home like of Derek Luke's character. The rest of the group, or at least the older characters, we almost exclusively saw them as bikers instead of getting more of a sense of their lives away from that world. Bad film made by a director who was over his head and should stick to HBO movies. As I wrote years ago this was a waste of one of the best recent ensembles put together.

While I agree that the ensemble cast was wasted, it is an interesting sub culture that I enjoyed watching in the DVD "making of Biker Boyz" vignette. The screenplay was largely based on an article in the New Times Magazine. As long as the bikers thought it was close to the authenticity of their lifestyles, thats all that matters.

It suffered from the screen play and not the subject matter, which was quite interesting.

WOW....do you normally spit such venom about people you don't know?

Why does a pretty face like Meagan Good's make you physically ill?

Maybe because your face is ugly and makes other people physically ill?

Or is it because you know YOU CAN NEVER have "that" pretty face....

or any other pretty face like it???

"OOO...I'M GON' TELL MAMA!"
