I've looked on Amazon.com, FYE, NewburyComics... and come up with nothing.

shareI've seen dates like 2005 and 2006 attached to it. Are they incorrect? or is it taking a long time to release it? When is it going to be released?

There have been anticipated release dates in the past that have come and gone. This is mainly due to the fact that this is an independent film and all that goes with being that.
Even though production has taken longer than anticipated, and hoped, moviegoers should not take this as a negative sign. On the contrary, it has only meant that PRJ and crew have had more time to make this an even better film than it would have been had it come out sooner. Although there are some newcomers in this production, a run through of the credits will show that some of the biggest names in movie making have also had a hand in its creation. For many of us it has been a labor of love, especially for the movie's writer and director, Patrick Read Johnson––a fact that we believe will clearly come across on screen.
This film has not disappeared into movie limbo, and never has. There are things happening, even now, that are very exciting. It is in the process of taking the next steps that will lead to an eventual release.

How "exciting" can it possibly be? As with Fanboys, every release date has come and gone. It's just sitting there, either in a can or on somebody's hard drive, a wet dream gone bad. It'll never be shown, and that's sad.

I saw it last year at Celebration IV... if it has 1hour cut from it, it can be one of the best movies about growing up ever! It was fantastic, but it was almost 3 1/2 hours long when they screened it and parts of it were not needed. but trust me when I say that it is good. But i agree I just want to go buy it! ARG!!

There have been cuts. There have also been changes and improvements. PRJ showed me some them. If you liked it before, you will like it even more when completed. I also agree that it is fantastic, and is one of the best coming of age movies ever.

shareOf course, what does the word "soon" really mean? If you call the fire dept. at 911 and they tell you they'll be over with the hook & ladder "soon" you might have a certain time frame in mind. If you're a little kid on a road trip to the Wisconsin Dells with mom and dad and they tell you you'll be at the water park "soon" you have a certain time frame in mind. When someone here, including me, posts that the movie is coming out "soon" it truly means nothing. When the movie is confirmed at Toronto, or has a distributor, or has a confirmed theatrical release date, then the word "soon" might actually mean something.

I also saw it at Celebration IV and thought it was just right. That cut could have been released and it would have been swell. Cheesy special effects included.
I hope it eventually sees the light of day. It's been way too long.
