The Best of "The Best Sex Ever" Series
Cinemax's "The Best Sex Ever" series first aired around 2002 and enjoyed a few seasons of success. The premise of the show was nothing original. "Hot Lines" which date from a few years earlier in the 90's a radio show hostess who openly discussed sexual desires with callers. Hot Lines, too, was only a copycat series modeled after "Miami Hot Talk" from the 80's about a hot radio show in which callers openly revealed their highly sexualexperiences in Miami, Florida. "The Best Sex Ever" stars adult film actress Angela Davies. She is the hostess of a nightly radio show that opens the lines for anonymous callers to be on the air with her and reveal their sexual fantasies and talk about the best sexual experiences they've had. Here are various episodes I can recall watching and their reviews, in the hopes that you might be enticed into watching this well-made and very arousing, creative softcore series.

A couple, Victoria and Ken (Jezebelle Bond and Danny Pape)check into a romantic resort, book a suite and prepar to spice up their love life but things take a different turn when they discover that another couple has also booked the same room by mistake. As they settle into the room, they discover that the other couple - Nikki and Chris (Monica Mayhem and Micah May) have already made themselves quite comfortable and are having sex in the shower. Ken is disturbed by this and wants to get the hell out but Victoria becomes aroused by watching the other couple going at it in the shower. When the couple finish up, it's time for formal introductions. Rather than feeling bad about the whole thing, the adventuresome couple proposes to spend time with them and get them to loosen up. The next day, they are all in the pool and begin a sexy "adult" game of truth or dare. The girls dare each other to remove their clothes and kiss one another. For the "truth" bits, they reveal their fantasies and erotic encounters from their past. Before long, the game has aroused the four adults and they return to the hotel room. Here, they finally let go of their inhibitions, especially Ken who had misgivings at first. They begin to basically "swing" with each other and swap partners. "Make me jealous" is the general idea and they begin to pleasure each other while watching one another. This episode is pretty good, though many other episodes of the series were far better written. At times, this felt too much like a cliche. The days when sexual swapping of partners was chic (the 60's and 70's) is no longer as catchy by today's standards. Still, this is a cute episode and the sexual movements, while clearly simulated, can be very arousing to watch.
Episode Fantasy Nights/Bump And Grind: With Angela Davies, Wendy Rice,Frank Harper, Keri Windsor, Summer Fields, Missy Garland, Jodie Moore,Terri Poch...
Veronica discusses sexual fantasies with her caller "Bob"(portrayed by Frank Harper) who tells her how hard it was for him to reveal his ultimate fantasy to his girlfriend Jenny (Keri Windsor). This fantasy is about seeing his girlfriend and another woman, Jenny's old girlfriend from college Heather (Wendy Rice). Although Jen has admitted to having had lesbian sex with Heather at one time, they would later become just friends. Bob's fantasy is to see them engaging in lesbian sex once again. Jen is aware of this and proceeds to make his fantasy come true but only after a slow build-up, step-by-step. First, they get Heather to watch them making love after Bob and Jenny have "role played" pool cleaner and housewife. Before long, after much anticipation, Bob becomes part of a threesome and watches Heather and his girlfriend together. This episode is one of the better ones, with fine acting and love scenes to boot. In "Bump and Grind" we see actor Frank Harper in a different role. He's been in several Cinemax softcore adult films and although he is not a porn "hunk", he is very talented and passionate in the love scenes, usually having chemistry with the girls. He portrays another Bob, the powerful executive of a corporate business and the subject of his newest temp Leah's sexual fantasies. Our heroine Leah(Dru Berrymore) is a timid soul and can only dream that Bob will just come into the office room and take her. But after she becomes too frustrated, she gets the guts to give herself a sexy new look and there's more. She takes strip dancing lessons and becomes more assertive. Finally, she walks into Bob's office and gets what she's been looking for. This episode is very sexy,well-written and provocative.
Episodes Sexy Pictures/Bad Boys With Angela Davies, Frank Mercuri, Chris Gustafson, Taylor St. Clair, Lezley Zen, Chloe, Alexa Rae, Evan Stone......
In "Sexy Pictures" a couple Tama and Barry (Taylor St. Clair and Frank Mercuri) become bored and spice up their sex life by viewing adult films together. But they find that this is not enough so they go a step further and decide to make a professionally made adult film starring themselves. A company videotapes couples who consent to be filmed having sex. Its owner Leslie (Lezley Zen) happens to know Tama and is aware of the potential "healing" aspect of this project. Barry dons a "pirate" costume - a fluffy white shirt and black slacks, while Tama is completely nude save for a necklace a la classic porn. Barry has some of the sexiest and oddly romantic lines as he lists the five most sensuous things he has discovered about her - her ability to give love in receiving it, her sensitive body, her trusting him, etc. While he talks, they begin to make love on a canopied bed. The scenes here are very hot and although probably not hardcore, it seems so vivid and sexually charged, that the passion feels intensely real. I really love it and it's apparent that many female viewers responded positively to this. In "Bad Boys" the series take a less romantic approach and Veronica talks to a caller Stephanie (Chloe) who reminisces about a past experience with a "bad boy", the type of guy who is attractive to women but is edgy, dangerous and usually not the boyfriend or husband type. After a lengthy education in a Catholic private school for girls, she is ready to take on the real world and falls for Alex (Evan Stone) who rides Harleys, has long hair like a rock star and has a powerful sexual appetite. She is on cloud 9 when they move into an apartment together. But it's not long before she discovers he is cheating on her with another girl from the apartment building. Stephanie gradually falls for the helpful, quiet and attractive young blonde guy Mike (Ken Burke) who is a polar opposite of Alex's. She finally realizes bad boys are not worth falling head over heels for and she becomes content with the good guy. The thing about this episode is that both actors Evan Stone and Ken Burke are noted adult film stars (softcore) and it's interesting to see them playing characters based on real people as many of these episodes from Best Sex Ever appear to derive from real stories or in the least are realistic fiction. Chloe is another well-known adult film star, with her signature red hair and deep-sounding orgasms but here she provides us with acting skills beyond just porn.
Episodes Homework/Naughty By Nature: With Angela Davies, Ava Vincent, Lane Anderson, Randy Spears, Mandy Fisher and Matt Dalpiaz...
These two episodes were quite engaging because the actors appear and re-appear
on "skinemax" to the point you feel they are old friends. Randy Spears is an icon of softcore series and Matt Dalpiaz and Lane Anderson are also known by the names Ken Burke and Frank Harper. Angela Davies appears in the episode "Homework" and this time not just as the hostess. A bored girlfriend tires of her guy's immature attitude and his inability to perform good sex. His idea is just "wam bam thank you ma'am" and he does not care for foreplay or a slower style of lovemaking. Melissa (Ava Vincent) seeks help from Victoria (Angela Davies herself) a sexy but older school teacher. Victoria begins to instruct Matt (Lane Anderson) on the art of better lovemaking. At first, it looks as if Matt has fallen for her and is thrilled to be her young stud/lover. But Victoria is only teaching him to last longer in bed and to pay attention to his partner's needs. Before long, it's time to see the results. We find that he's been doing his "homework"as Melissa finally has a good orgasm with her boyfriend. This is one of the superior episodes of the series, with good writing and hot sex scenes, especially those with Angela Davies. It's nice to see her within the story line itself and not just doing her "radio show" thing. In "Naughty By Nature" two couples go on a camping trip that alters their sex lives for good. Ned (Randy Spears) and Valerie (Ava Vincent) are conservative folks and lack passion. The solution lies in sexual swapping during this trip to the woods. After arguing and putting it off for a while, they finally give in to it and there are fireworks. Matt Dalpiaz and Mandy Fisher are the other couple and their attractive youthfulness, as well as hot sex scenes together, makes this a very delicious episode.
The Best Sex Ever was a wonderful series on late night Cinemax and
it's too bad it went off the air. But DVDs of the show are to be found some
where more than likely so if you can get your hands on them, these episodes
will leave you burning with desire in the bedroom before you drift off to sleep.
