Stockhom Syndrome? (potential spoilers)

I wonder if Melanie could be considered a victim of Stockholm Syndrome. Even though the balance of power was in The Man's favor for only about a day, the remote location away from help may have exaggerated her emotional/mental trauma. By the way, I'm not a psychologist; I'm just speculating.

I think so - when she lost her mind she saw the man as a sought of saviour ("i've never been happier" i think was the quote when she was lying on the freezer)

That's exactly what it was in my opinion. That is characterized by the kept developing affection and a protective feeling about the keeper.
