How does a paper bag help you????
I never understood this. How can a paper bag help you get to your senses, when you're nervous. How can it even help you catch your breath?

It is supposed to correct hyperventilating, (too much oxygen in blood stream, not enough carbon Dioxide.) If you are re-breathing expelled air, not room air, it will have more co2 in it. It can be dangerous though if not enough co2 in the system is not the problem, like thinking you are hyperventilating when you are actually having a heart attack or other medical issue.
