PASSCODE

The success of the con depended on Roy giving up his passcode. Why did he need to give Angela the code and access to the money? So she could go on the run? So she could buy a good defense lawyer? Doesn't make sense that he would be in such a hurry to give up the code. (Of course, it also was crazy that he gave her signature access earlier, too.)

For a man as smart as he is supposed to be he just totally accepted that some random girl is his daughter without questioning if he is being conned...

He thought he was world smart, but a daughter, that was closer to home, and his ex wife was his weak link, so a daughter had that connection. It's an almost perfect key to get in and get past his defenses. And it worked, so there.
He wanted to believe it. That is the key.

Thanks, posters, but nobody has answered my questions. Even if Angela really was his daughter, what adult trusts a wild young teen (especially one who has already asked for sig access) with the passcode to his entire liquid savings? And Roy doesn't even give it directly to her. He gives it to his therapist, whom he's known for just a few months. It's all pretty incredible (as is never having a conversation with the mother of your supposed offspring).
