Of course I want to say no,but then why the sappy ending? I would have been furious!
Or do you think they were trying to show that even though they weren't related they genuinely liked each other, combined with Cages character "learning his lesson" and being happier with his new life?

No she isn't, but money can't buy happiness and he is happier with a clean conscious and new life.

There was zero ambiguity about it. If you didn't know if she was really his daughter or not you were not paying the slightest amount of attention.
