excuse me, but this movie deserves a HIGHER RATING

7.0? seriously, 7?
i don't believe it. this movie was utterly beautiful and moving.
from the cinematography to the acting to the intrigue, to the music, to daniel bruhl and august diehl (swoon), seriously. i don't get it.
can someone explain to me why it might be at 7? i gave it a 9.
not a 10 simply because it wasn't the most amazingly perfect thing i'd ever seen, but damn, it moved me and it was close to perfect.

i couldn't get over paul and gunther's friendship. and all that stuff about wanting to die when the love had left their hearts, that was noble and poetic, not flimsy. does anyone else think this movie is underrated?

i agree dude this movie absolutely rocked. didn't hit me at first when i watched it, but could not get it out of my head for days. usually a sign of depth and intrigue, for me anyways. loved it, one of the favs now.

Agree, it is definately underrated, but i really think it has more to do with the inability of some people to apreciate the subtlety of the emotions portrayed, they probably just didn't get it, you can read most of the reviews and see it for yourself, of course i mean the bad reviews. Other reason might be that being subtitled could make some loose track or interest o even loose some of the meaning. Well that's just my theory, I have always asked myself that, it is one of my favorites, great costumes, music, theme, actors, picture, scenery, I just wished I could really find another movie that resembles to this one, but I don't think I will find one.

the punishment is that you can never forget that one moment...

I'm sorry but this movie just makes me mad.

Netflix describes this movie, in the first line, as "Deeply in love, Gunther and Paul are convinced that they can attain true, ecstatic happiness together ...".

REALLY?

I didn't see any evidence of more than a friendship between the two. I scoff at 'deeply in love'. I feel betrayed. Following in the theme of the film, I should shoot Netflix.

Beyond my anger and feelings of betrayal, I think this movie is just not very good and entirely enamored with itself. Whatever ...

Yup, it needs a higher rating!
