When Paul beat up Hans for being an A-hole to his friend.

i agree. Paul was so angry at Hans for making Gunther so upset.

Hans was a pretty unsympathetic character. Sad he got shot to death and everything I guess, but I guess that's the kind of Karma bullies get.

yeah Hans wasn't the nicest guy, but he didn't deserve to get killed.

I think Hans really just liked hanging out with Gunther and Hilde, as they were upper-class and he was working-class. I think he liked it that Gunther was madly in love with him too.

whaaaaat?? paul was angry cos he knew gunther was upset and jealous, and he couldnt stand having hilde being shared around!

Hans was horrible. He knew Gunther was madly in love with him and totally screwed with his head. He kissed him in the cellar, despite Gunther telling him to go away, which then lead to full on passionate kissing. And then next scene he is back with Hilde...

The worse bit was on the river bank, kissing Gunther and then right in front of him showing him that he was way more into his sister. Really nasty thoughtless behaviour. I think he got off on stringing him along, hoping he could get them into a 3-way.

I also like Paul beating him up, served him right.
