That wasn't Texas

Just as I suspected, this was filmed in California and NOT Texas. It didn't even look like Texas. If Texas (or NYC for that matter) is a main character, then the outdoor shots need to be filmed there.

I agree. Although, certain parts of the locations did resemble parts of central Texas and some of the Hill Country. But I agree, shame they didn't go get the real thing. Lots of films are made out of Austin and it's good boost to their economy.

Just for the record, I'm female...

I just saw this (well, most of it) the other day and while I might be more than a little prejudiced about my beautiful CA...I have to agree with you. If the story is supposed to be set in a certain state...the least they could do is film the outdoor shots in THAT state! It's not like it's in Timbuktu. TX isn't on the other side of the world. We never know what production costs are and why they do what they do. But, come on...they could send one person to do some filming to make sure we see some part of the real TX.

(P.S. I had to look this up b/c certain scenes did remind me of CA and was a little surprised that is actually was!)
