The original was a lot better. It was well done and really creepy. I just recently watched the American version of it and though they sticked pretty close to the original, it was done pretty badly. The scenes that were supposed to be scary seemed ridiculous in the remake.

It has 2 remakes: One from USA and one from India.
If you are talking about this film as "japanese" I wonder, it is because you watched the movie dubbed in english?
