Scariest part

There are two scariest parts in this brilliant movie. The ghost girl that complains on the occupied chair and (the scariest one) the very first ghost shown in the movie, the old lady that is "taken" by that white faced spectrum, when she says that she needs to drink some water or something like that. Jesus, i thought my blood had frozen in my veins.

reply

The old lady in the hallway said she was "FREEZING". The other good scene was "Get Out of My Chair". That was the other good one. Listen to this flick with headphones on it will send chills up your spine!

haha, me too!

In my opinion there's 3 major spooks...

1) The hospital with the old lady
2) "Why are you sitting in my chair?"
3) The elevator scene

Scariest? Hmmm...tough, probably the 2nd one. But the creepiest is no doubt the elevator scene, that scene gets dragged out for what seems an eternity.

reply

I agree the "Get out of My Chair" scene didn't fool me at first, but the second inflection scared the... well you know. I thought the scene at the Hospital with the dark figure walking her out and then her standing in the hallway saying "I'm Freezing" was killer. You should listen to those scenes with headphones on. I agree, chills.

reply

The elevator scene scared the crap out of me. I seriously still watch it through my fingers. :)

Just something about the way he's moving oh-so-slowly toward her on the tips...eww...

I can't.

You know what I mean, though.

reply

totally agree! the elevator scene is still tough to watch without getting creeped out!

i hate elevators now...

reply

It will always be the scariest scene for me...I just watched the trailer on Youtube for a refresher and the English version uses the entire Elevator scene. I just could NOT watch it. I have never been so terrified by a movie before. It's just so wrong...why is he facing away, why is he moving so slow? It just horrifies me! I guess that was the point...

I agree and I was wearing headphones for this movie. Every hair on my body stood on end in those scenes XD

reply

During the old lady scene, I couldn't help thinking "Oh my god, I am so scared I am gonna faint" !

reply

Yeah, i actually struggled to watch it. It was thrillingly painful to watch!

reply

'Get Out Of My Chair!' really made my heart jump and about the old lady, its really scary to be walking in the corridor of a considerably old hospital at night when there is no one......freezing.....'AAARRRR!'

reply

The Grandpa scena was the most friking scariest thing that I ever saw..

reply

Dude, bad idea. I remember i watched this film the third time on my computer when it on tv, and thought none of scenes would have any effect. Big mistake! The more in-your-face this stuff is, the scarier it is....

reply

I remember none of your scariest scenes. The only thing that scared me somewhat was the flying ghost of the woman with a child at the restaurant outdoors. I think her waving her long tongue is pretty scary. Overall, the film is OK, but I won't make any effort to see it for the second time.

reply

2 scenes were scariest for me:
1. ELEVATOR scene!
2. the 'why are you in my chair' scene

reply

1. why are you sitting on my chair... I SCREAAM LIKE A PUSSY
2. the old lady in the hospital
3. the elevator scene.... that was more tenssion that scare almost bite my nails

reply

With the elevator scene it was just the thought of what we were going to see when the guy turned round. All hunched over and hiding his face, after the caligraphy class scene I was sweating over what was going to happen with this one!

reply

I havent seen this movie in forever.. I saw it when i was twelve and now im 15. I remember it scaring the *beep* out of me. BUt, can someone refresh my memory as to what happens during the "Your sitting in my chair" or get out of my chair scene? Because I remember that one standing out to me as bieng quite creepy, but i cant reamember what ahppened.

The main girl Mun is sitting in a caligraphy class writing various scripts with her teacher. He goes to leave her for a minute and she carries on writing on her own. As she is writing a voice says "Why are you sitting in my chair?" (or words to that effect) at which point we see a ghostly woman standing in the corner of the room. This alone is quite spooky in itself and it makes the next part seem so much worse because you think the tension is gone. The girl carries on writing, then suddenly we hear the same phrase "WHY are you sitting in my chair?!" in a much more urgent, angry tone. At the exact moment the phrase is repeated the camera moves to reveal the same woman only this time she suddenly moves forward and lunges for Mun with her arms outstretched in a blinding white light. Mun then spills her pot of paint in terror and we collectively lose our nerves!

reply

*beep* That is creepy.

GHOST: Get out of my chair! *pounce*
ME: *dies*

GHOST: I'm..freezing.
ME: AHHH! *still dead*

Heh..xD

reply

i remember the 'why are you sitting on my chair' scene...that was my favorite spooky scene.

the first time i watched this movie, i was jumping out of my seat...i have watched this movie so many times already....

The "Get out of my chair" was definately the scariest. When the woman suddenly returned and said it loud, and then floeated towards the main character I was like "Whoa!" The elevator and hospital scene were very creepy, but I also liked the bizarre qualitiy of the meat licking.

reply

the scariest scene is the elevator.

reply

Scariest scene and weird scene.
Scary: "Get out of my chair"
Weird: When Mun is in the restaurant and the lady ghost with the baby ghost licks the glass**chills**. Why does she do it anyway?

reply

The female ghost with the tongue in the restaurant is by far the scariest moment in the entire film. Just because the freaky glass-licking ghost doesn't make you jump (like the "why are you in my chair" ghost) it doesn't make it any less scary, and this extremely modest scene is one that will stay with me forever and made the movie for me.

reply

um, im pretty sure they licked the meat, not glass

reply

honestly, this movie was awesome, but not very scary. the calligraphy scene was ok but i liked the bus scene when mun is talking to doctor lo. if you look at the window while it goes dark you can see a very evil face appear.

also when the boy is eating the candle you can spot a dark figure at the end of the corridoor. its those things that make it scary.

Drop that right now and let me go or I'll assume you're deadly and kick you ass.---battle royale

reply

The face at the window of the bus, or was it a train?, some mode of public transport, anyway, yeah the face at the window was very scary. I was waiting for the face to jump in through the glass or something but insted the director let it be subtle. That is what makes the film great! I have to say though, the "Why are you sitting in my chair" bit was the scariest ever. I have a red wine stain on my carpet thanks to that! The last time i jumped like that during a film is when i was seven years old watching Jaws - the bit with the head!

reply

Like most people said, that Chair scene soiled my pants. When that ghost launched towards Mun I screamed. Damn...

The elevator one was also pretty freaky

reply

I agree. That "Why are you sitting in my chair?" scene chilled me to the bone.

reply

can you imagine that kind of scene...i have to admit that once after watching a re-run of that movie in my home...when i was using the toilet around 1 am late at night...i suddenly thought of that chair ghost appearing in slow transition in the dim light and facing me with an evil glare on its tiny face..

reply

I thought the chair one was scary, SO was the elevator one, LOVE IT!

But just thinking that maybe in real life there are the black figures that take the souls away when they die are actually here in real life, but we just can't see them. Creepy!

reply

yea that part was freaky because i had to rewind it a few times Mr_Apocalypse89 Spooky!!!!!

reply

Yeah, that's right - the ghost was licking meat. This is why Mun didn't eat her meal and left straight away.

Who was that girl that ask Mun "Can you see them too?". Was she able to see the ghosts as well?

reply

I agree. The rest of the movie was pretty good, but that scene freaked me out. Why was she licking the glass?

reply

Ghosts can't eat. They kinda... smell? Or in this case, lick the air(?). Take in the essence of whatever or chinese worshipping incense. I wish I could describe this better. But yeah, she's not licking the glass. Possibly just the meat like the other people have said. Though I'm not sure her tongue made contact with it.

reply

One scene that sticks with me is the "photo/mirror" scene. The scene could agreeable have been done better (imho it did loose some of its impact due to the editing), but the concept was just pure genius and, at least for me, it came out of nowhere.

Great Stuff!

-I think we have to face up to reality.
-If we're lucky, reality is a firing squad.

reply

No! She wasn't licking the glass. She was licking the roasted pork (the meat). According to the Chinese, the roasted pork was one of the 'favorite dish', they could not consume it, but licking it. The other favorite would be the white candles, that's the reason in one scene, you would see that little boy chewing the candles.....

Now that I would think twice before ordering the roated pork in the restaurant...

reply

the calligraphy class scene was the scariest to me. To this day it remains as the only scene in a movie that actually sent a chill up my spine. Any scary movie can make you jump in your seat, but this was the first time I ever got chills.

I think the 2nd creepiest scene was the face in the subway... the entire thing is so subtle that you have to wonder if it was even intended. It has no bearing on the entire scene, it's just... spooky. Good stuff.

reply

i agree with everyone... the chair scene. the ELEVATOR scene (creepy). and the subway..it was realy creepy cause i was expecting something to happen and it didnt, so it was like "okay, what the hell was that about!!"

reply

[deleted]

The Eye has so many classic ghosts scenes....like the "Licking the glass" scene, The "Calligraphy" scene, The "Elevator grandpa" scene and the very very classic, "Accident" scene, the elevator scene gives me goosbumps and it really gives me tension!!! But....the Calligraphy scene mades me JUMP and scream (note im a straight boy!)

reply

Yup I know what you mean, I saw it with my straight male friend too, and he got up and almost didn't want to see the elevator scene. Plus when she says that that cancer girl put in the wrong picture when Mun is looking at the scrapbook is creepy too!

I shall call him Squishy and he shall be mine and he shall be my Squishy.

reply

The elevator scene was certainly scary, and that woman with her child at the foodstand, licking the meat.... That will put me off noodle bowls for a while, I think....

The scene with the woman demanding Mun tell her why she took her chair wasn't all that scary for me, probably because I'd seen it in previews for the film, so I knew what to expect....

reply

The elevator scene has always been the scariest for me. I swear I was sweating a storm when I watched it for the first time. The chair scene was pretty scary to me but not as scary as the elevator.

I love just the little random parts like the face in the window, the guy in the middle of the highway, etc. That's what makes a good scary movie.
