I don't get the ending..

Would someone please enlighten me with their interpretations of the ending? Thanks!

reply

My interpretation is the cop had met the girl in his past. She asked him for a drink. Earlier in the film the cop had a memory flash of her in B/W while he was driving. Now, Eun-ju Lee had given a miracle birth to something so the ghost had been reincarnated into a little girl. Again, she goes after the cop.

The question is did they fool around and she got pregnant? So, the baby is not the TV host's. Also, while the cop sat talking to her co-worker he said he was not chasing after a criminal but destined to find out what happened to the victim?

Does that enlighten you so much that you have to watch the film agin? Does anyone else have another point of view?

I'll just agree with you on it. I thought it was a very poor movie (except for the opening credits) and since it wasnt for rent I'd purchased it for $25 plus tax (canadian $$)for the tartan version and now i wanna get rid of it but I see it just sold on ebay for 1 cent plus $3 U.S. for shipping

Sell it at Gamestop, they buy back almost anything. Even if they give you a penny, you won't have to ship this piece of rubbish anywhere.

Just picked up my copy new (Tartan Video - Region 1) for $10.00. At $10(CDN), it's not bad. Far better than what I was expecting. I'll be watching this again. For me, it's a keeper.

What I don't understand about the ending is that when the girl shows up, she looks to be about five years old. Is the scene in the subway years later? Why is it that when she gave birth, you see the baby being born and then it just disappears? What's up with that? If the baby survived, why did it just disappear and then turn up years later (if it is years later)?

Just watched it for the 2nd time. It's kind of sad because the material seems to have potential to it...I'm just confused as to what happened.

I thought that Soo-jin and the cop made a cute couple. Seems like she spent more time with him than with the TV anchor, anyway.

I thought the little girl at the ending looked A LOT like the doll that opens its eyes in the room above bathroom. Anyone else?

I've read suggestions that the father of ghost lady's baby was actually the cop who befriends the female reporter. Perhaps the girl at the end is ghost lady's dead child. I also thought that the doll in the room above the bathroom looked a lot like the ghost artist lady. Maybe she turned into the doll?

I remember at some point that she hears the girl in the painting talking about that " all she wanted was to be loved.....to be born again and this time find someone who loved her" more than his job or anything else.
I think the girl at the end is the reporters child and also the painter reborn...it looks just like her. I don't think the cop is her father, I think she went after the cop as a way to find a father or a lover just as long as he would love her....remember she was also an orphan and so never knew the love of a parent or a man.
I also think thats why the painting is crying when the reporter is saying she wished she could have and love her baby and thats also why she picked her as a mother because the other women all wanted abortions.
